Tenuta Ferrata was born in the 90s to a family of Sicilian entrepreneurs who, thanks to the passion of the two brothers Carmelino and Oreste, managed to realize their desire by purchasing this estate, deciding to return to that place its original vocation linked to the production of wine. The vineyard that rises inside the estate, is surrounded by hazelnut trees, walnuts, olive trees and among the dry stone walls surrounded by historical lava flow of the Etna volcano that makes these lands so particular. The Virlinzi brothers, heirs of a family business that turns 100 years old, eternally grateful to their land and their volcano Etna, a source of energy and life, have started to produce three balanced types of wine, with a strong personality, which have the taste of passion that they put in making their products, favoring biodiversity, in full respect of the environment. The vineyards are located, among other things, on land with a high endowment of fine sand, with a heteromorphic skeleton consisting of fragments of effusive rocks and lapilli, giving life to the following wines:
Cimé Etna Rosato Dop 2020
The feat of virtue to test our strengths and to commit them deeply
Cielo Cèneris Etna Bianco Dop 2020
Lava fountains, ash rain, lapilli and a column of smoke that covered the sky. In the afternoon of February 16, 2021 Etna gave a show
Punta Drago Etna Rosso DOP 2019
The dragon has always been the symbol of Mother Earth, that is, Mother Nature.
The harvest of the grapes, on these soils not chemically treated, designed by mascalese nerello vineyards, stationer and a part of Pinot noir, is carried out by hand towards the end of September at the beginning of October and the processing of the raw material is done through an old millstone with press. This processing process makes Tenuta Ferrata wines unique in their kind.
